Google has announced that a new feature will be released for WhatsApp in the Pixel 10 series. Google has announced on social media platform X on this satellite -based communication feature. Pixel will be supporting the phones in the 10 series from August 28 by WhatsApp voice and video calls through the satellite network. On August 28, the Pixel 10 series smartphones will be available for purchase in the market.
A teaser video has been shared on the X. In which it is said, how is this feature working? When you get a WhatsApp call on the satellite network, you will see a satellite icon in the status bar. After that, users can normalize voice or video in a normal way, the only difference will be that the call will be connected to a satellite network instead of a mobile network or Wi-Fi. Also, Google has made it clear that some terms and conditions will apply. First of all, this feature will only work with partisantipeting carriers. In addition, users may have to pay additional charges to use this service.
After the company releases this feature, the Google Pixel 10 series will be the world’s first smartphone series, which will support the satellite-base calling on WhatsApp. It is not yet certain whether the WhatsApp will also provide text messages through the satellite network. However, users will be able to call voice and video through this satellite network.
