The Haryana Steelers, the defending champions, are gearing up for the Pro Kabaddi League 2025 (PKL 2025) with aspirations of becoming the second team to retain their title. Since their entry into the league in 2017, they have consistently performed well, making it to the playoffs in four out of seven seasons. Under the guidance of head coach Manpreet Singh, the team is poised for another strong performance.
Following their successful title run last season, the Steelers have maintained their core team while adding ten new players during the auction. Key raiders like Vinay, Shivam Anil Patare, and Vishal Tate have been retained, and they have enhanced their offensive lineup by acquiring experienced raider Naveen Kumar for INR 1.20 crore, who boasts an impressive record of 1,102 raid points in 107 matches.
On the defensive front, captain Jaideep Dahiya and right corner Rahul Sethpal are expected to play pivotal roles. However, the team will miss the contributions of star allrounder Mohammadreza Shadloui, last season's Most Valuable Player, whose absence is a significant setback.
The 12th season of PKL will take place across four venues: Vizag, Jaipur, Chennai, and Delhi. The Steelers will kick off their season on August 31 against the Bengal Warriors, followed by three additional matches in Vizag. They will then head to Jaipur for four games before playing five matches in Chennai, concluding with five games in Delhi.
