Supreme Court Orders Samay Raina to Apologize: The Supreme Court gave a big verdict and ordered many people including famous comedian and social media influencer time Raina to publicly apologize for making fun of Divyangs. The Cort said that such behavior will not be tolerated. If someone does this, he will also be imposed strict punishment and fine.
The case came to light during a hearing on the petition of Sma Cure Foundation, stating that some comedians are talking derogatory things about the disabled. The petition includes time Raina as well as Vipun Goyal, Balraj Paramjit Singh Ghai, Sonali Thakkar and Nishant Jagdish Tanwar.
It is alleged that in his show and podcast, he has said such things which hurt the dignity of the Divyang. The case is being heard by Justice Suryakant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi. The Supreme Court reprimanded Raina and others for making fun of the Divyang at the famous comedian time and gave clear instructions to publicly apologize in their podcasts and programs.
Justice Joymalya Bagchi said that some people are misusing freedom of expression and making it a means of business. The community should not be used to hurt the feelings of a particular class. Justice Suryakant said that balance between rights and duty is necessary. He warned that if such an act happens again, the court will also decide how much a fine should be imposed.
The court said that now the matter is of the disabled, but further women, children and elders can also be targeted. Therefore, the central government has been instructed to prepare a guideline on social media to curb any class insult or joke.
