Allu Kanakaratnam, the beloved grandmother of Telugu film star Allu Arjun, passed away on Saturday, August 30, at the age of 94. Her body has been taken to the residence of producer Allu Aravind, where the final rites are set to take place later today in Kokapet, Hyderabad.
At the time of her passing, Allu Arjun was in Mumbai. Upon receiving the news, he promptly canceled his commitments and is anticipated to arrive in Hyderabad by this afternoon. Similarly, actor Ram Charan, who was filming in Mysore for director Buchi Babu Sana’s project, also halted production to attend the funeral.
For context, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are cousins, with Allu Aravind being the brother-in-law of megastar Chiranjeevi.
Chiranjeevi expressed his sorrow over the loss of his mother-in-law through a heartfelt message on social media. He stated, “The passing of Kanakarathnamma Garu, wife of Sri Allu Ramalingayya Garu, is profoundly saddening. The love, bravery, and values she imparted to our families will always inspire us. I pray for her soul to find peace. Om Shanti.”
