Bhubaneswar: To enhance educational prospects for both active and retired Indian Air Force (IAF) members and their children in engineering and medical fields, the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT)-DU has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the IAF.
The agreement was signed by Air Vice Marshal Harjit S Sidana, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Education), and Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU.
This collaboration is designed to provide substantial educational advantages, including reduced tuition fees for the children of serving and retired IAF personnel. Furthermore, those who have lost their lives in service will receive fee waivers and additional support. Admission will depend on meeting eligibility requirements such as NEET for medical and dental courses and the KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE) for engineering and other disciplines.
During the signing event, Singh emphasized, “The primary goal of this MoU is to guarantee quality education and financial assistance for the children of Indian Air Force personnel.”
This partnership also opens avenues for collaborative efforts between KIIT and the IAF's educational sector in research and development projects, as well as the creation of short-term educational programs. Additionally, IAF representatives took the opportunity to visit KIIT and KISS founder Achyuta Samanta, commending his vision for inclusive education and contributions to nation-building.
