Support for Poonam Patel's UPSC Journey

In a commendable move, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has ensured that Poonam Patel, a flood-affected student from Dantewada, can continue her preparation for the civil services without any hindrance. Residing in a Naxal-affected region, Poonam has dedicated the last three years to studying for the UPSC exams. Following the recent floods that devastated Dantewada, her family has been relocated to a relief camp. Today, the Chief Minister visited Poonam to check on her situation. Acting on his directives, she has received vital study materials and a new tablet to aid her exam preparation, ensuring her studies remain uninterrupted.

Poonam, who lives in Churitikara Para Ward of Dantewada district, has faced significant challenges in her UPSC journey. The recent floods severely damaged her home, destroying all her belongings. She expressed her distress, stating that the floodwaters ruined her books and tablet. Her father, Santosh Patel, operates a grocery store and had saved diligently to purchase a tablet for her studies. With her study materials lost, Poonam was understandably anxious about her future.

Thanks to the intervention of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the local administration has stepped in to provide Poonam with a new tablet and essential books for her competitive exam preparations. This timely assistance has alleviated her worries, allowing her to focus on her goal of becoming an administrative officer, undeterred by the recent calamity.
