New Delhi. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today caught red -handed, taking bribe to senior manager of Kotwali Road branch of UCO Bank in Mathura. He is accused of demanding a bribe of four lakh rupees in lieu of a loan of one crore rupees.
According to the CBI, a CC loan of Rs 1 crore was approved from the bank to the complainant’s firm, but only Rs 90 lakh was issued. The remaining 10 lakh rupees were stopped by the branch head and pressurized with the intention of taking illegal benefits.
When the complainant’s son reached the bank, the branch chief sought a bribe of four lakh rupees in exchange for releasing the loan amount. This amount was stated to be four percent of the total loan.
The CBI today registered a case and took action by laying a trap. The investigating agency arrested the accused with one of his private colleagues taking the first installment of two lakh rupees.
At present, the CBI has registered a case and the investigation is on.
