Jee main 2026: One of India's largest engineering entrance examinations, Jee Main may soon see major changes. The Ministry of Education has created a new JEE APEX Board for the examinations of 2026 and 2027. This board will now take all the important decisions related to the exam, whether it is the rules, a normalization policy or the exam pattern. So far many students have complained that the paper level is not the same in different shifts of JEE Main. Somewhere easy and more difficult questions are asked. In such a situation, marks change after normalization and the scores of students who bring the same marks are different. This is the reason that the government has decided to reconsider this entire system by forming a new board.
Problems of normalization: Students believe that the formula that right now does not show the real performance right.
Inequality in paper: Different shift questions do not have the same difficulty.
Demand for standardization: Students want everyone to get equal opportunity and the level of questions should be the same.
This time the JEE APEX Board has been fully newly shaped. Its command has been handed over to Professor SK Jain (former Vice Chancellor, BHU). The board has a total of 19 members, including IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee and NIT Rourkela director, CBSE chairman, DG of NTA (National Testing Agency), Representative of Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh.
Every year millions of students give JEE Main to enroll in top colleges like NIT, IIIT and reach IITs through JEE Advanced. In such a situation, a small change in rules or scoring can also have a big impact on the result. At the same time, students can also benefit from the new board. In which there will be more clear guidelines for rules and eligibility. All shifts will have almost equal level paper. There will be a more equitable normalization system developed. Transparency will remain in the examination process.
Please tell that the first meeting of the board is yet to be held. Only after the meeting will the examination schedule and the official announcement of the new rules. Therefore, students preparing for JEE 2026 are advised to stay connected with the official website of NTA and keep an eye on every update.
