Bride's dad shows groom her wedding dress before big day, then something amazing happens

Your wedding day is all about committing to a lifetime with your partner in a beautiful ceremony, followed by fun party and being surrounded by your loved ones. And there's no denying that the bride's wedding dress tends to be a huge part of the festivities.

There's a lot of pressure for it to feel perfect on the big day – from splashing out a fortune on lavish gowns to having endless fittings. Then, superstitious brides have to keep their dresses a secret from their partner to be in keeping with tradition.

So one bride was devastated when her husband-to-be saw a picture of her dress before her big day. He dad posted pictures of the gown in their family group chat – and her fiancé saw them.

Melinda told her Instagram followers: "My dad just sent all of my wedding dress photos to our family group chat that my fiancé is in."

People rushed to comment on the post. One said: "I hope you made him buy you a new dress."

Another remarked: "OMG - Dad needs to be in timeout and lose his phone privileges."

A third commented: "My dad did this when we were dress shopping with my sister-in-law."

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: "I can't send ANY pictures via text because this is what my dad does. We eloped and I texted him 'please don’t share these courthouse pictures'. I woke up the next morning to his Facebook post of said pictures."

But thankfully, the nightmare scenario took a turn for the better thanks to dress designer Justin Alexander.

The luxury wedding brand, that offers beautiful and timeless dresses to UK shoppers, offered to help Melinda.

Reacting to her post in a video, Justin Alexander said: "I think we should get you a new dress... Melinda I'm sure you love the wedding dress you chose, but I'm happy to help make sure your first look makes it out of the family group chat."

The video has raked in over two million views – an Melinda has taken the company up on the offer.

The CEO and Creative Director issued a further comment, adding: "Update, Melinda has been in touch and we are getting her to our retail partner One Bridal ASAP to get her a replacement Justin Alexander dress.

"She leaves for her wedding Monday [September 1]. I think we have the perfect dress for her."

Melinda visited the One Bridal store in Jacksonville, Florida, as the shop stocks Justin Alexander dresses. She was given the opportunity to pick one of the dresses out free of charge – and this saved the day!

Melinda said she is "so thankful". She shared a sweet video of her experience in the shop and said: "I hope good news finds you and life shows you how kind it can be. Forever a Justin Alexander bride."

The tailor who helped alter Melinda's dress commented: "Congratulations, beautiful bride! It was such a joy to help you shine."

The story has gone viral on social media and people have rushed to praise the company for its kindness.

One said: "This story is truly incredible and what social media SHOULD be about."

Meanwhile, wrote: "So amazing! I absolutely love wedding vendors! This industry is so beautiful to work in."
