Jonghu, Professor of Pohang University of Science and Technology, has given a serious warning about the future of Pakistan with the help of his team. Continuous growing global warming will show such major changes in the climate, which will frequently create floods and drought conditions in Pakistan.
Rivers like the Indus river are the lifestyle of Pakistan. The agriculture, energy and daily needs here depend on these rivers. However, climate change has made the situation very serious. Especially in the high areas of the mountains where the snowflakes are rapidly melting, which is affecting the flow of rivers.
Traditional weather models cannot work properly in the mountains and valleys. They sometimes show less rainfall, sometimes more, which makes it difficult to estimate accurately. To prevent this, Professor Kaman’s team trained the AI model on the actual data of the previous year. This made the weather more accurately estimated.
According to the report of this team, the upper Indus river valley will face severe floods and drought every 3 years. So, the situation can occur in the valleys of other nearby rivers, he said. This prophecy of AI has made the future challenges of Pakistan’s climate and agricultural sector.
