Actress Gauahar Khan, who won Bigg Boss 7 and continues to follow the reality show closely, didn’t hold back in criticizing Kunickaa Sadanand’s recent behavior on Bigg Boss 19. Her ire stemmed from an emotional nomination task where Kunickaa dragged housemate Tanya Mittal’s mother into the mix during a heated moment. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Gauahar wrote that invoking motherhood while even uttering remarks about someone else’s mother is “shocking.” She called it a display of “double standards,” and added: “Hope being 61 still makes you eligible for criticism. Expect only what you can offer; otherwise, don’t expect at all.”

The nomination task—a 19-minute buzzer challenge—turned intense when Kunickaa attempted to distract Tanya by making personal jabs, including statements about Tanya not having been taught “anything” by her mother. Though Tanya completed the task, she was visibly shaken and soon broke down in tears.

As Tanya mourned, she courageously recounted painful chapters from her past: she revealed her father’s abusive behavior, her mother’s protective role, her near-forced marriage at 19, and how starting a business required permission even to wear a saree or step out. “My father used to beat me, and my mother would save me,” she said.

Gauahar’s critique wasn’t the only reaction—social media quickly echoed the sentiment. One user posted, “Shame on you #KunickaaSadanand went on Tanya’s mother, and that was totally wrong! Gaurav took the right stand for her.” Another commented, “You too had a family and yet you keep on going on Tanya’s Mother!!! Shameful.”
