Tata’s MegaCharger VS Tesla’s Supercharger: Elon Musk Or Noel whose company has bigger charging station?

Tata Group has taken a major step in the EV space with the launch of its fast-charging hub the TATA.ev MegaCharger facility in Mumbai. It is sup jointly by Tata Power and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility. The hub was inaugurated on World EV Day (September 9) nearTerminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The opening is done within a month after Tesla introduced its first charging station in India at One BKC in the Bandra-Kurla Complex. The question now is who has the bigger EV charging hub in Mumbai? Tata’s Mega EV Charging Hub It is located within the Leela Mumbai Hotel premises near the airport the TATA.ev MegaCharger facility has eight fast DC chargers with speeds of up to 120 kW spread across 16 charging bays. This allows 16 EVs to charge simultaneously reducing wait times even during peak hours. The hub will operate round the clock and run entirely on renewable energy. It is designed to serve a wide user base including private car owners taxis ride-hailing fleets and logistics operators. Tesla’s Superchargers In Mumbai Tesla’s charging hub at One BKC launched in August 2025 includes four V4 Supercharging stalls (DC chargers) and four destination charging stalls (AC chargers). The V4 superchargers offer peak charging speeds of up to 250 kW at a rate of Rs 24/kWh while the AC chargers deliver 11 kW at ₹11/kWh. According to Tesla the superchargers can add up to 267 km of range in just 15 minutes for a Model Y with a full charge costing around Rs 1500. The company has also announced plans to set up three more charging stations in Mumbai at Lower Parel Thane and Navi Mumbai by the end of the September quarter. Who Has Bigger Hub? For now Tata holds the edge. With its 16-bay MegaCharger hub Tata currently operates the largest EV charging facility in Mumbai as compared to Tesla’s eight-stall setup at BKC.
