Illiterate women, educated women choose a small family! Know what SRS reports say

Girls’ education is not limited to books only, it gives direction to the whole life and future of society. The recently released sample registration system (SRS) 2023 report further confirms this. According to the report, as the level of education of women increases, not only does their thinking and quality of life improve, but also have a positive impact on their family and society.

The data revealed in the report is shocking, women who have never seen the school door, their total fertility rate (TFR) i.e. an average number of children producing children is around 2.2. At the same time, this rate remained around 2 in the women who studied only to primary or middle. But as soon as the level of education reached 10th, 12th or higher education, this figure decreased to 1.8 and 1.6. This clearly means, the more studies, the better understanding and family planning ability.

Focus on studies instead of getting married early

But real meanings are not limited to population control. Educated women are more self-sufficient, they get jobs and career opportunities and they are able to take decisions to their health and future. This is the reason that women who get higher education often pay attention to studies and career instead of getting married early. The direct effect of this is that both marriage and children are planned late, due to which the birth rate naturally decreases naturally.

More children more support

The report also shows that educated women keep more information about contraceptives and reproductive health. They do not hesitate to adopt modern family planning methods. The result is that not only the maternal mortality rate decreases, but the health and education of children can also be given better attention. The most important thing is that education changes thinking. In illiterate families, where there is still a mindset of ‘more children, more support’, educated families understand that ‘less children, but better upbringing’ is the real progress.

What does the report say?

The report of SRS 2023 clearly says that if India has to move towards economic development, social reform and women empowerment, then the biggest key is the education of girls, because a educated woman does not just change her life, but brightens the future of the whole society.
