PTC News Desk: Jasmine Lamboria scripted history and became India’s first-ever gold medalist at the 2025 World Boxing Championships. Competing in the 57kg category, she defeated Julia Szeremeta in the final with a 4-1 split decision. Notably, Julia had earlier won the silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

"This feeling can't be expressed, I'm so happy to be a world champion. After my early exit at Paris 2024, I went away and improved my technique physically and mentally. This is the result of consistent work for a year," said gold medalist.

Capping off a stupendous campaign that saw her dominate all her rivals, Jasmine outclassed Szeremeta in the 57kg summit clash late on Saturday night, prevailing 4-1 on the judges’ scorecards (30-27, 29-28, 30-27, 28-29, 29-28).
