New Delhi: The city of Nagpur is all set to witness a major industrial boost as two Indias biggest companies (Reliance and Adani Group) have made fresh investment commitments to the Maharashtra government. Adani Enterprises Limited will invest Rs 70000 crore to establish an integrated coal surface gasification downstream derivatives project at Linga village in Kalmeshwar in Nagpur district. According to the reports the investment will create 30000 direct jobs.
Reliance Consumer Products Limited on the other hand will invest Rs 1513 crore to set up an integrated facility for manufacturing food beverages and food products in Katol. The project is like to generate around 500 jobs.
These investments form part of a larger tranche of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth Rs 108599 crore signed by the state government with various companies for setting up industries information technology units food processing units warehouses data centres and logistics hubs across Maharashtra.
Investors and the industry sector play a major role in the economic progress of the state. The state govt is always ready to fulfil the expectations of industry and investors. The govt is trying to ensure that entrepreneurs have a positive experience of investing in Maharashtra Fadnavis said after the MoU signing ceremony.

The chief minister said that these projects will create about 47000 direct employment opportunities statewide.
Senior government officials including chief secretary Rajesh Kumar Industries Department secretary P Anbalgan and chief executive officer of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) were present during the signing event along with top executives of the participating companies.
Among the other major MoUs MGSA Realty has pledged Rs 5000 crore for setting up industrial warehouses data centres and logistics hubs in various parts of the state
These projects are likley to generate 10000 jobs.
Lodha Developers Limited will invest Rs30000 crore to build a ‘Green Integrated Data Centre Park at Ambernath in Thane district
Polyplex Corporation Limited will establish a polymeric products project at Nandurbar with an investment of Rs286 crore creating about 600 jobs.
The state government has described this round of investments as a key driver for accelerating Maharashtra’s economic growth and establishing it as a preferred hub for large-scale industries technology and infrastructure projects.
