The combined market capitalization of eight of the top-10 most valued companies surged by Rs 169506.83 crore last week supported by bullish sentiment on Dalal Street with Bajaj Finance leading the gains.
The BSE benchmark advanced 1193.94 points or 1.47 per cent during the week. Among the top-10 firms Reliance Industries HDFC Bank TCS Bharti Airtel ICICI Bank State Bank of India Infosys and Bajaj Finance recorded gains while Hindustan Unilever and LIC saw a decline in their valuations.
MCAP Of Reliance Industries And TCS Jumps
The market valuation of Bajaj Finance jumped Rs 40788.38 crore to Rs 624239.65 crore. Infosys added Rs 33736.83 crore taking its valuation to Rs 633773.30 crore.
The market capitalisation (mcap) of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) surged Rs 30970.83 crore to Rs 1133926.72 crore and that of Reliance Industries zoomed Rs 27741.57 crore to Rs 1887509.28 crore.
State Bank of Indias valuation climbed Rs 15092.06 crore to Rs 759956.75 crore and that of ICICI Bank rallied Rs 10644.91 crore to Rs 1012362.33 crore. The mcap of HDFC Bank edged higher by Rs 6141.63 crore to Rs 1484585.95 crore and that of Bharti Airtel went up by Rs 4390.62 crore to Rs 1085737.87 crore.
However the valuation of Hindustan Unilever dropped by Rs 12429.34 crore to Rs 606265.03 crore. The mcap of Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) declined by Rs 1454.75 crore to Rs 553152.67 crore.
