New Delhi: Following Asia Cup 2025 Group A clash in Dubai on Sunday India and Pakistan players refrained from shaking hands or sharing the usual embraces. India easily chased down the 128-run target in just 15.5 overs but the customary post-match handshake was missing.
Skipper Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube remained unbeated and they walked straight off. Earlier at the toss Suryakumar and Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha had also avoided a handshake or eye contact.
After securing a victory over Pakistan with a six Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav headed off the field alongside Shivam Dube his batting partner at the crease. The Indian players and support staff celebrated with each other through hugs but there were no formal interactions with the Pakistan team.

Pakistan posted a target of only 127 runs
Talking about the match coming into bat first Pakistan could manage to score only 127 runs in their 20 overs thanks to a sensational bowling performance from the Indias bowler. Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav led the bowling attack as he picked three wickets.
India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah and all-rounder Axar Patel took wickets respectively while Varun Chakravarthy and Hardik Pandya contributed with one wicket each.

With the bat opener Abhishek Sharma scored 31 runs from just 13 balls to hand India a flying start. Following his dismissal Suryakumar Yadav guided the chase with an unbeaten 47 off 37 deliveries making it a memorable birthday for the Indian skipper.
India tops the Group A table after securing a convincing 7-wicket victory over Pakistan. If both India and Pakistan manages to enter the Super Four stage they will face each other again on the following Sunday.
