India’s badminton star Jwala Gutta is in the headlines not only for her game, but also for social service and a noble initiative. After the birth of her daughter Meera in April 2024, she has taken a step that can save the lives of countless newborns. Jwala has donated milk continuously by joining a donor milk (initiative to donate mother’s milk) to a government hospital and so far she has donated about 30 liters of breast milk. Jwala Gutta says that mother’s milk is a life saver for children, especially for infants who are born prematurely or are struggling with serious diseases.
This initiative is helping such children whose mothers are not able to feed milk or are hospitalized. Jwala wrote on her ex account in August, ‘Breastfeeding saves life. For premature and sick babies, donated milk can change life. If you can donate, then you can become a hero for a family. His message gave this awareness to thousands of people.
This initiative of Jwala is being highly appreciated on social media. One user wrote, ‘She is the mother of many children.’ The other said, ‘Very few people are ready for such noble work.’ Somebody wrote, ‘Mother’s milk contains DHA, which is very important for the development of children and body of children. Thank you Jwala in powder milk. Another comment wrote, ‘You have always been the champion, on the field and now outside the field.’
Jwala and her husband actor-producer Vishnu Vishal were married on 22 April 2021. Exactly four years later, i.e. on 22 April 2024, on the day of her wedding anniversary, she was blessed by daughter Meera. Vishnu shared the good news of Meera’s birth on social media and wrote, ‘We have found a little angel. Aryan (son from first marriage) has now become an elder brother. This is our fourth wedding anniversary and God has given us the biggest gift.
An emotional turn in this story comes when it is revealed that Jwala and Vishnu’s daughter Meera is named by Bollywood actor Aamir Khan. Actually, Jwala and Vishnu tried for a long time to have a child but did not get success. Jwala was 41 years old, he had to get IVF treatment done again and again. The attempt was unsuccessful about 5-6 times and Jwala gave up hope. During this time, Aamir Khan became helpful in his life. Vishnu told in an interview that Aamir called him to Mumbai and took care of Jwala and his family for a full 10 months. He collaborated in the IVF process and tied courage at every step.
When the girl was born, Aamir Khan especially reached Hyderabad and participated in the naming. He suggested the girl to name the girl “Meera”. This name has now become a symbol of that special association and friendship that he got from Aamir Khan, not only for his family. This initiative of Jwala Gutta has given a big message to the society- becoming champion in the game world is a big thing, but the real champion is the one who makes the lives of others better. Today, Jwala has become a lifeline for thousands of newborns, not only the star of badminton.
