Electricity from vibration: Trains running on the road, trains on tracks or walking on foot, due to all these, continuous vibrations arise on the earth. Till now this energy used to go in vain, but scientists have developed a unique technique to convert it into electricity. This discovery can open a new way of energy production.
The movement of the metro trembles, produces the speed of trains on the bridges and the steps of humans also lead to subtle energy. Scientists at the National Taiwan University have made a new improvement in ‘Piezoelectric Energy Harvester’ technology to convert this vibration into electricity. This device can provide energy to daily electronic devices.
So far, the most common method for power generation has been ‘Diving Board Design’. In this, thin beam bends and puts pressure and generates electricity. The problem is that this technique only works on limited vibration frequencies, such as radio can hold only one station. Also, more pressure in it falls at one end of the beam, so that the entire material is not used correctly.
Scientists have solved this problem with ‘Stretch-Mode Design’. In this, the thin PVDF film is stretched from all four sides like a dholak skin, causing the entire surface to become electricity. Its real awesome is ‘Sliding Mass’ a small load that automatically moves according to vibration.
In simple words, this device automatically becomes tune.
In experiments, this technology proved to be far better than old designs.
The most important thing is that it can easily shift to the high energy position from low energy without any external help.
Experts believe that this technique can change our life if successful on a large scale. Wireless sensors, mobile devices, and medical implants will be able to work for a long time without a battery. In future, this technique can start a new world of self -sufficient devices by reducing dependence on batteries.
