Ingredients Needed
Jowar flour – 1/4 cup
Wheat flour – 1/4 cup
Ragi flour – 1/4 cup
Finely chopped onion – 1/4 cup
Finely chopped tomato – 1/4 cup
Chopped coriander – 2 tablespoons
Green chili paste – 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin powder – 1/2 teaspoon
Turmeric powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Red chili powder – 1/4 teaspoon
Oil – as required
Salt – to taste
Preparation Steps
- Begin by mixing jowar flour, wheat flour, and ragi flour in a bowl until well combined.
- Finely chop the onion, tomato, and coriander leaves, then add them to the flour mixture gradually, mixing thoroughly.
- Incorporate the green chili paste, red chili powder, cumin powder, and turmeric into the mixture. Gradually add one and a quarter cups of water, stirring until a smooth batter forms.
- Heat a non-stick pan or tawa over medium heat. Once hot, drizzle a bit of oil and spread it evenly.
- Pour a portion of the batter into the center of the pan, using a circular motion to spread it out.
- After cooking for a short while, drizzle oil around the edges, flip the cheela, and cook the other side.
- Apply a little oil to the flipped side and continue frying until both sides are golden brown.
- Transfer the cooked cheela to a plate and repeat the process with the remaining batter. Serve hot with chutney or sauce.
