The accused, identified as Ravinda alias Kullu and Arun, were killed following an encounter with the Uttar Pradesh STF in Ghaziabad on September 17
Lucknow: In a major breakthrough in the firing incident at actress Disha Patani’s residence in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh STF and Delhi Police’s Crime Intelligence Unit arrested the two assailants after an encounter in Ghaziabad on Wednesday morning. Both men later died in hospital during treatment.
The attack took place around 3:45 am on September 12, when unidentified gunmen opened fire at the actress’s home, sparking panic in the locality. A case was registered at Kotwali Police Station in Bareilly. Taking strong note of the incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered an immediate investigation and strict action.
Following the directives, agencies launched a massive probe using CCTV footage from entry and exit routes, crime records from neighboring states and advanced surveillance tools. The efforts led to the identification of the shooters as Ravindra, son of Kallu, a resident of Kahni in Rohtak, and Arun, son of Rajendra, a resident of Indian Colony, Gohana Road in Sonipat.
On Wednesday morning, a joint team of UP STF (Noida Unit) and Delhi Police intercepted the duo in Tronica City, Ghaziabad. A gun battle followed in which both accused sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
ADG Law and Order Amitabh Yash said both men were active members of the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, a notorious syndicate with multiple criminal cases. Ravindra had been previously involved in several crimes. Police recovered sophisticated weapons including a Glock and Zigana pistol, along with a large cache of ammunition.
Officials said investigations are continuing to trace the wider network behind the attack.
