TCS-NVIDIA partnership: In a significant move to boost its AI-powered retail solutions Tata Groups Tata Consultancy Services (TCS)-- Indias largest IT services exporter-- has partnered with US tech giant NVIDIA to use the chipmakers enhanced computing capabilities to power its AI-enabled solutions for retailers.
How TCS-NVIDIA partnership will help retailers?
According to a statement TCS intends to employ NVIDIA hardware and software ecosystem to strengthen its retail-centric platforms such as Optumera Omnistore and AI WisdomNext which will help global retailers to lower operational costs enhance efficiency and drive innovation using advanced features like computer vision and digital twins.
TCS believes that retailers who implement these solutions are expected to witness significantly lower operational costs compared to similar solutions offered by rival companies. The TCS-NVIDIA partnership aims to provide better product selection advanced video analytics and enhanced customisation of store layout using simulation tools TCS said.
According to experts the combination of NVIDIAs state-of-the-art computational capabilities and TCS AI solutions could provide significant value for retail customers by allowing hyper-personalised content creation dynamic price and real-time adjustments.
Retailers would also benefit from the these solutions as store simulation and shop floor layout optimization will help in cutting losses on inventory and enhance operational metrics such as wait times and stockouts.
TCS Qualcomm to set up innovation lab in Bengaluru
Meanwhile the news comes after TCS announced it was setting up an innovation lab in Bengaluru in collaboration Qualcomm-- another US chipmaking giant. In a statement issued Wednesday TCS said the new facility in Bengaluru will be equipped with 5G private network infrastructure and other high-tech network and equipment.
The TCS Innovation Lab which is being established in partnership with Qualcomm will develop capabilities for sectors that require agile IoT solutions such as security and surveillance healthcare smart infrastructure and manufacturing the company said in a regulatory filing.
