Roman has slashed the price of a popular quilted coat that has been dubbed 'lightweight' yet 'surprisingly warm' making it ideal for the unpredictable British weather. Boasting a 4.8 average rating out of a possible five stars on the fashion retailer's website, the item is now down 20%, cut from £69 to £55.

Available in UK sizes 10-20,the jacket is shoppable in a staple black and an autumnal plum hue and features a practical hood and comfy knee length fit. Shoppers have been raving about the jacket online, with one saying: "Lovely coat, quite thin but what I wanted and surprisingly warm. True to size."

Alternatively, at H&M there's an Oversized Drawstring Waist Puffer Jacket that's available in three colours and retails for £40. Featuring a quilted weave and a lined hood, it's an ideal autumn coat for casual days.

Back at Roman, and the brand's Iridescent Diamond Quilted Hooded Coat boasts plenty of high ratings, with one shopper commenting: "Lovely coat. Quite thin but what I wanted and surprisingly warm." Another said: "Great, easy to wear and comfortable, not tried it in the rain yet."
