Amidst the strictness in global migration policies-the US is on the lines of increasing the H-1B visa to $ 10,000-the Arabian Emirates (UAE) has allegedly imposed temporary restrictions on new tourist and work visas for citizens of nine African and Asian countries, which will be effective from January 2026. According to a confidential immigration circular leaked in the media, the applications of these countries will not be “until” further information “, although the UAE government has not officially confirmed this instruction. The move reminds me of the 2020 sanctions between Kovid-19 and increases the investigation on security, diplomatic relations and health protocols.

The affected countries are Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cameron, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Uganda and Yemen. Bangladesh Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Tariq Ahmed, dismissed early reports from uncomfortable sources like UAEVISAONLINE.COM and dismissed any official information to the embassy or consulate. However, many media institutions have already banned applications citing this circular.

The important thing is that this policy gives exemption to the existing visa holders: those who have legitimate permits can live in the United Arab Emirates without any interruption. There is no time limit for reviews, but experts associate this ban with rising risks and migration pressures from struggle areas such as Yemen and Libya.

Human damage is very serious. Bangladesh – Where more than 1 million are migrants from the United Arab Emirates – and the job seekers from the African countries are facing the blockage of opportunities, which is affecting the money remittance of the domestic economy. Tourism and family tours are hanging in the balance, while the United Arab Emirates business dependent on this labor force. The government of Uganda has clarified that it is a partial long -term visa, not a complete travel ban.

For affected individuals, experts urge the Embassies of the United Arab Emirates to confirm the situation. As diplomatic dialogues intensify, this “2026 visa strategy” can give a new look to the Gulf stay, which will outline the UAE’s balance between openness and security in the unstable region.
