Ingredients

Ghee - 3 tablespoons
Makhana - 2 cups
Jaggery - 1/2 cup
Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
White sesame seeds - 2 tablespoons
Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Black pepper powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Black salt - 1/4 teaspoon

Recipe

First, add 2 tablespoons of ghee to a pan and heat it. Add the makhana seeds and fry them well, then transfer them to a separate bowl.

Now, add 1 tablespoon of ghee to the pan and heat it. Add the finely chopped jaggery and let it melt completely over low heat.

When the jaggery melts, add a drop of it to cold water. If the drop hardens like toffee, add a pinch of baking soda.

The mixture will become light and frothy. Now, add the roasted makhana seeds, fennel seeds, black pepper powder, and black salt to this mixture.

Mix everything well so that the jaggery sticks to the makhanas. Transfer this mixture to a bowl and let it cool.

After cooling, gently separate the makhanas. Your jaggery makhanas are ready.
