Srinagar: Last rites of two Ladakhi youngsters killed during the protests on September 24 were held on Sunday amid severe restrictions as the curfew in Leh entered its fifth day.

Locals said nobody was allowed to attend the funeral except close relatives, some Apex Body Leh members and a group of monks to perform prayers.

Security forces ensured that there was no major attendance at the funeral of Stanzin Namgyal and Jigmet Dorjee, both in their 20s. The funeral of the other two, including an ex-serviceman, will be held on Monday.

"We want the administration to immediately release all those arrested as they are innocent," Apex Body Leh's co-chair and Ladakh Buddhist Association chief Cherring Lakruk told ET.

ABL and Kargil Democratic Alliance members are scheduled to attend preparatory meetings in New Delhi with MHA officials on Monday or Tuesday to set the agenda for the October 6 meeting.
