A new exciting chapter is about to begin in the world of women's cricket. The 13th edition of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 will start from 30 September and run till 2 November. This tournament will be played in India and Sri Lanka. A total of 8 teams will participate in this tournament and 31 exciting matches will be seen in a total of 34 days. Let me tell you, India is hosting this event for the fourth time.
For the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025, India has got a direct entry as a host, while Australia, New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka and South Africa women have qualified for the top-5 of the Women's Championship rankings. Apart from these, Pakistan and Bangladesh have made it to the qualifiers in Lahore. This tournament will be played in a round-robin format. Each team will play seven matches in the group stage, and the top-4 teams will reach the semi-finals.
The ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 matches will be played at 4 stadiums in India. At the same time, a ground in Sri Lanka has been hosted. Competition will be played in India at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore and ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam. At the same time, the matches to be held in Sri Lanka will be at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo. Apart from this, the final will be played on November 2 and if Pakistan qualify, it will be in Colombo, and if not, it will be played in Navi Mumbai, India.
The first match of the tournament will be held between India and Sri Lanka in Guwahati on 30 September, while the first match of the current champion Australia will be against New Zealand in Indore on 1 October. While England's campaign will start against South Africa in Guwahati on 3 October. On the other hand, Colombo will host seven group matches of Pakistan, including the match to be played against India. At the same time, all the matches will start at 3 pm on October 26, except for the New Zealand-England match, which will start at 11 am.
This time the World Cup will be held only with a panel of women's match officers. For this tournament, the ICC has chosen four match referee and 14 umpires from nine countries, including all women. Turudy Anderson (New Zealand), Shandre Fritz (South Africa), GS Laxmi (India) and Michel Perera (Sri Lanka) will be the match referee. On-field and TV umpires in Sui Red Four (England), Claire Polosak and Allice Sheridan (Australia), Candes La Borde and Jacqueline Williams (West Indies), Kim Cotton (New Zealand), Sarah Dambanewana (Zimbabwe), Shathira Zakir JC (Bangladesh), Kerin Close and Lauren Azanbalag Africa), N Janani, Vrinda Rathi and Gayatri Venugopalan (India) and Nimali Perera (Sri Lanka) are included.
