Veteran actor and comedian Kashif Khan shared interesting memories of his close ties with Bollywood during his appearance on ARY Podcast. He said he used to travel to Mumbai so frequently in the past that it felt like moving between neighborhoods in Karachi.
He revealed that he often brought biryani and haleem from Karachi’s famous Burns Road for Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who loved the taste. Kashif Khan added that during better times between India and Pakistan, such exchanges were normal.
Kashif also defended his daughter, TikToker Rabika Khan, who had earlier claimed that Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan were fans of her father. He said people mocked her for it, but the truth is many Indian actors admired him and his work in the past.
He explained that he worked extensively in India, more than most Pakistani artists today, but the lack of social media back then meant people didn’t notice. According to him, actors who worked in India before 2013 did not get the same online recognition.
Kashif said he often took his family with him to India. Big stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan wanted to meet his family and were curious about his personal life. His children even met the Bollywood icons during those visits.
He emphasized that today’s political climate has made such interactions difficult. He confirmed that neither Salman nor Shah Rukh called for Rabika’s wedding, saying it’s better they didn’t, as a simple phone call could cause trouble for Indian actors now.
Kashif ended by saying that while he values those memories, times have changed, and so have the relations between the two countries, making such bonds harder to maintain.
