A resident discovered their neighbour has begun cutting their lawn as part of a "weird project".
The troublesome neighbour appears oblivious to the disturbance they're causing, despite the homeowner making it abundantly clear they don't welcome the unsolicited mowing.
Even after being warned to cease cutting the grass, the neighbour has persisted with their actions, leaving the anonymous resident baffled about how to proceed.
They have now turned to the r/NeighboursfromHell Reddit forum, a platform where people seek advice about their problematic neighbour.
The resident explained one portion of the garden resembled a "golf course" while the remaining half was left as a "scraggly jungle".
Furthermore, the homeowner was instructed not to touch their section of the grass, as the neighbour insisted it interfered with his mowing patterns.
The resident posted: "My neighbour mows only half my lawn. Every single week. This guy next door has a perfect lawn obsession. Like he trims his grass with scissors obsessed.
"At first I thought he was just being nice because I came home and half my yard was freshly mowed. Exactly half. The line is razor sharp, like a haircut with a ruler.
"Week after week he does it. Always stops at the invisible border he decided on, which is about 3 feet into my yard. So now my lawn looks like it has a before-and-after photo. One side golf course, other side scraggly jungle.
"I asked him why he keeps doing it and he said 'because I can't stand uneven lines when I look out my window'. I told him then mow the whole yard. He said 'that's your job'."
The homeowner has since attempted to negotiate with their troublesome neighbour, but nothing has halted the bizarre mowing approach.
They continued: "So basically I'm trapped. If I mow my side it messes up his lines and he complains. If I leave it, it looks insane and he still complains.
"If I try to mow the part he already did, he literally comes outside and yells at me not to 'ruin the pattern.' My yard has turned into his weird lawn art project and I'm losing my mind."
Social media users have all proposed the identical remedy to this grass-cutting nightmare, with fencing recommended by numerous people.
One person commented: "You need a fence." Another added: "Fences make great neighbours."
A third suggested that if fencing wasn't the answer, then taking a firm stance with the neighbour would be effective.
They commented: "Tell him to stay off your property. He is trespassing. I had to confront my non attached neighbour about it. I reminded her about the he property line.
"She used my front yard as walking path to go visit my attached neighbour who had already told her to use the sidewalk. So one day when I saw her cutting across I told her no more.
"I also caught her spraying insecticide and weed killer and other things in my yard. That got confronted and I told her this was the final time. Next time I would call the police. It all stopped."
