New Delhi: Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer headlined India A’s dominant performance in the first unofficial ODI against Australia A at the Green Park stadium in Kanpur. Arya, who took the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 by storm, smashed a sensational century, as did his Punjab Kings skipper in the first match of the white-ball leg of the series between the two countries.

It was a remarkable batting onslaught by Indian batters who pulverised the Australian batting attack with a brutal performance. While Arya and Iyer scored stunning centuries, Prabhsimran Singh 56 (53), Riyan Parag 67 (42) and Ayush Badoni 50 (27) also made useful contributions as all the top five India A batters scored 50+ in the innings to take the team’s total to a mammoth 413/7 in 50 overs.

Iyer, Arya sizzle with sensational centuries

Arya, the 24-year-old Delhi opener, displayed his batting prowess against an international side and cemented his status as one of the most exciting young batting talents in Indian cricket with a scintillating century. Arya scored 101 off 84 balls, studded with 11 boundaries and five sixes.

Meanwhile, Iyer, who recently led the India A side in the first unofficial Test in Lucknow and then decided to take a break from red-ball cricket ahead of the second match, played a classy knock. of 110 off 83 balls with 12 fours and four sixes. Walking in at No. 3, the India A captain stamped his authority right from the get-go.

Indian batters set record total

Iyer, who enjoyed a prolific campaign at the Champions Trophy and a standout IPL season, showed his readiness ahead of India’s next ODI assignment against Australia later this month.

After Arya and Prabhsimran gave India a superb start with a 135-run partnership for the first wicket, the middle order carried the momentum forward as Parag and Badoni slammed quickfire fifties, ensuring the team crossed the 400-run mark.

India’s total of 413/6 is now their highest List-A score at home, surpassing their previous best of 371/3 against South Africa A in Chennai back in 2015.
