Protesters calling for an end to the use of asylum hotels have gathered in central London. The protest, dubbed the "pink ladies" protest, is calling for the protection of women and children, amid what they see as a spate of attacks involving asylum seekers.

The Pink Ladies have become prominent at anti-asylum marches throughout the summer, standing out with their colourful t-shirts and singing of songs. Conservative councillor Susan Hall said on Facebook that people have become "fed up with illegal migrants in hotels in their communities," ahead of the march. Stand up to Racism are holding a counter-protest, accusing the pink ladies of attempting "to spread racist hate and division."
