New Delhi. In Aadhar Card, it is now expensive to update information like name, address or photo. The Unique Identification Authority of India- UIDAI has changed the Aadhaar update charge (Aadhaar Update Rate).
Now to make any changes in the Aadhaar card, an additional fee of Rs 15 to 25 will have to be paid. The new rules have come into force from October 1, 2025 and will remain in force until 30 September 2028. After this, UIDAI has also fixed new rates for the next phase i.e. October 1, 2028 to 30 September 2031.
Which services became expensive
So far, the service of the service whose charge was 50 rupees has now increased to 75 rupees. These services include updating information like name, address, mobile number, date of birth. To update fingerprint, iris or photo, first 100 rupees have to be paid, now you have to pay 125 rupees. Similarly, the service of Rs 75 has now been Rs 90. Whereas the service of Rs 125 will be Rs 150 in the second phase i.e. from October 1, 2028 to 30 September 2031. However, no fee will be charged for making a new Aadhaar card and it will be free as before.
Relief to children and teenagers
UIDAI has also given relief to children and adolescents. Biometric updates of children/teenagers aged 15 to seven years and 15 to 17 years of age will be free. Apart from this, the fee for biometric updates for children aged seven to 15 years has been waived by 30 September 2026. These steps have been taken to promote updates on time. However, if a person wants to update biometric information at another age, he will have to pay.
700 rupees for service at home
UIDAI has also fixed the fee for domestic Aadhaar services. If a person wants to update Aadhaar sitting at home, then he will have to pay 700 rupees (including GST) for this. If more people also want to take service in the same house, then every additional person will have a charge of Rs 350. These fees will be different from normal fees of demographics and biometric updates.
Online updates cheap, colored print expensive
If you update the address or other documents in your base online (MyAadhar portal), this service is free till 14 June 2026. But if you get the same update done at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, then where you used to pay 50 rupees earlier, now you have to pay 75 rupees. If you want to take a color copy or EKYUS of Aadhaar, now you will have to pay money for this too. Its fee has been fixed at Rs 40 (2025-2028) and then Rs 50 (2028-2031).
Biometric update charge
– If someone has to update fingerprint, iris or photo, then fees will be charged according to these rules.
-will remain free for the age of 5 to 7 years.
– Even at the age of 15 to 17 years, it will be free once.
– In all other cases, a fee of Rs 125 will have to be paid.
– Biometric update fees of 7 to 15 year old children have been waived till 30 September 2026.

Make new base: free
Compulsory biometric updates (5–7 and 15–17 years): Free.
The rest of the biometric update: Rs 150.
Demographic update: Rs 90.
Document Update (at Center): Rs 90.
Document Update (Online): 90 rupees.
Aadhaar Search and Printout: 50 rupees.
Note: Damographic update is called name, gender, date of birth, address, mobile number or email update.
