However, in the plains, the temperature remains slightly above normal due to sunlight and cloud eye-clock. The Meteorological Department has issued a big alert for the next three days, warning of heavy rains, hailstorm and snowfall.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather may deteriorate in most areas of Uttarakhand from Sunday to the next three days i.e. from Tuesday. There is a possibility of heavy rains, hailstorm and strong winds. In view of this, Yellow Alert has been issued. The situation may be more serious, especially on Monday, for which an orange alert has been issued in Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli and Haridwar.
On Saturday, Dehradun and surrounding areas were sunny in the morning, but it was cloudy by noon. Light drizzle was also seen in some places. At the same time, strong showers were also recorded at some places in Kumaon region. The hilly areas were cloudy throughout the day, causing the weather to be pleasant but a little cold.
The Meteorological Center said that on Sunday, there is a possibility of heavy rains, celestial lightning and winds at a speed of 40-50 kmph at Haridwar, Dehradun, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Nainital. Yellow alert has been issued in these areas. People have been appealed to be vigilant.
The weather is expected to deteriorate further on Monday. There is a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Dehradun and Haridwar. There may also be snowfall in high altitude areas. Apart from this, hailstorms and strong rains can also be seen. Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Tehri, Pauri and Nainital are also estimated to have strong rains and hailstorms in some places.
The weather patterns will also deteriorate on Tuesday. Heavy rains may continue. During this time, there will also be a drop in temperature, which is likely to increase cold. The Meteorological Department has advised people to take precautions and avoid the necessary travel.
