The Australia A team that is playing a three-match unofficial ODI series against India A at Kanpur has been haunted by the stomach infection. The team's captain Jack Edwards and three other players have been detected with stomach infections.
Pacer Henry Thornton had the worst effect and has been admitted to the Regency Hospital before the final ODI match that will be played today. However, the other three had some routine checkups and a few medications.
Well, the Australian team sources are blaming the hotel, allegedly the food served. But neither the hotel , nor the team management has confirmed it. When asked about it, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla defended the hotel saying that if the food had issues, it would have affected everyone. He said,
"The hotel in question is among the best in Kanpur. If the food was the cause, then all players would have been affected. It's something that still needs to be looked into carefully."

Notably, the food department visited the hotel kitchen and collected the food samples. However, the food showed no adulteration or contamination. Based on that, the hotel management claimed that the Australian players might have been affected by the weather conditions, and the food had no effect on them.
Well, to prevent any further complications, the Australian team management has modified the players’ diet plan, which also resulted in adjustments to their training schedule. Moreover, the medical team has temporarily instructed the players to avoid consuming local food and water.
