The festival of Diwali is near and the Modi government has made a big announcement for central employees! The government has not only increased dearness allowance (DA), but has also decided to give non-Productivity Linked Bonus. This bonus is equal to 30 days’ salary i.e. about Rs 6,908. This special gift will be available to Group B, Group C, security forces and employees of union territories. But wait, not everyone will get this bonus! The government has made some special rules for this. Come, know the whole details.
The government has made it clear that this Diwali bonus will be available only to those employees who will fulfill certain conditions. The most important condition is that the employee has worked for a certain time continuously. If you have taken long holidays in the middle or do not complete the work duration, then this bonus is not for you. This means that only employees who work continuously with hard work and dedication will get the benefit of this gift. According to reports, this Non-Productivity Linked Bonus will be available only to the employees who will remain in the job till 31 March 2025 and have worked continuously for at least 6 months.
Talking about the bonus, the government has fixed its maximum amount of Rs 7,000. But not everyone will get this full amount. The bonus will be given based on your basic salary. Its calculus will be from a particular formula: 7000 × 30 ÷ 30.4 = 6907.89 rupees. That is, a bonus of about Rs 6,908 will come to your account. This amount will make Diwali more special for employees!
Before Diwali, the government has also announced an increase in dearness allowance (DA), which has brought great relief for employees and pensioners. This increase will be applicable from 1 July 2025 and the rate of DA has now increased from 55% to 58%. Employees will get the benefit of this with the salary of October 2025, which will also include three months arrears of July, August and September. That is, you will get more money in the salary of October!
For example, if the basic salary of an employee is Rs 50,000, earlier he used to get Rs 27,500 according to 55% DA. Now you will get Rs 29,000 with 58% DA. That is, an additional increase of Rs 1,500 every month! Similarly, if someone’s basic pension is Rs 25,000, then earlier Rs 13,750 DR was received, now Rs 14,500 will be available. That is, the pension will increase by Rs 750.
