Bihar Government Expands Monthly Allowance Scheme for Unemployed Youths
In a major relief for unemployed youth ahead of the upcoming assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar have announced a significant welfare initiative in Bihar. Under the Mukhyamantri Nischay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, eligible unemployed youths in the state will now receive ₹1,000 per month directly in their bank accounts.
The announcement was made on October 4, as part of a larger package worth ₹62,000 crore, aimed at boosting Bihar’s development and welfare initiatives. The updated version of this scheme now extends financial assistance not only to 12th pass candidates but also to graduates and postgraduates who are currently jobless.
Under the Mukhyamantri Nischay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, the state government will provide a monthly unemployment allowance of ₹1,000 for a maximum of two years.
However, the financial support will be discontinued once the beneficiary secures employment. The expansion of this program is expected to benefit at least five lakh unemployed youths across Bihar.
Applications for the scheme will be accepted only through online registration, making the process transparent and hassle-free.
Here’s a simple three-step process to apply online for the scheme:
Visit the official website of the Bihar government for the unemployment allowance scheme.
Click on the option “New Applicant Registration.”
Fill in your details including name, mobile number, Aadhaar number, and email ID.
Enter the OTP received on your mobile and email to verify your details.
After successful submission, you will receive your username and password for login.
Log in again to the official website using your username and password.
Choose the “SHA Scheme” option from the available programs.
Fill in the application form carefully and tick the declaration box.
Submit the form and download or print the acknowledgment for your records.
A PDF copy of your form will also be sent to your registered email.
You’ll receive an email notification about the list of documents required.
Visit your nearest District Registration Counselling Centre (DRCC) for verification.
Carry your original documents along with the printed application form.
Once your form is approved, you’ll receive a confirmation message on your mobile.
The monthly allowance of ₹1,000 will then start crediting directly into your bank account.
To successfully complete your application, make sure you have the following documents ready:
Marksheet and certificate of Class 12 or Graduation (from a Bihar-based institution)
Class 10 certificate (showing your date of birth)
Residential proof (address certificate)
Bank passbook (with account details)
Aadhaar card
