News India Live, Digital Desk: Imd Warning: The mood of the country’s weather has changed completely at this time. On the one hand, while there is a threat of cyclonic storm ‘power’ in western India, heavy rains in the state of North India have spoiled the situation. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for both places and asked people to be careful.

Cyclone ‘Shakti’ on Maharashtra

The cyclonic storm ‘Shakti’ in the Arabian Sea is moving towards the coastal areas of Maharashtra, with which the government and administration have come on alert mode. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for coastal districts like Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.

According to the IMD, strong winds can be blowing at a speed of 55 to 65 kmph in these areas. There is a possibility of high waves in the sea, due to which fishermen have been given strict instructions not to go to the sea for the next few days. However, it is a matter of relief that the Meteorological Department has also clarified that the storm has no direct threat to the coasts of Maharashtra and it is moving towards Oman. But due to this, there may be heavy rains in Konkan and some interiors of Maharashtra.

‘Orange alert’ of heavy rains in Punjab

At the same time, due to an active Western disturbance in North India, the weather in Punjab has taken a dangerous stand. The Meteorological Department has released ‘Orange Alert’, fearing heavy rains in the state for the next three days. In many areas including Amritsar, rain has started with strong winds.

The biggest reason for concern is that the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBM) has opened the gates of Pong and Ranjit Sagar Dam amid warning of heavy rains. Thousands of cusecs of water from these dams are being released into Beas and Ravi rivers, which has increased the risk of floods in low -lying areas. The administration has advised people living on the banks of the river to be vigilant and go to safe places.

Overall, this double hit in two different parts of the country has become a big problem for the people. The administration is keeping an eye on both situations and is constantly appealing to the people to take precautions.
