Pakistani actress Mahira Khan expressed sorrow over Karachi’s tough realities. She posted images from various city areas on Instagram. In her message, she said she often feels stunned seeing her own city in this state. She added that her work takes her to places she never would have visited otherwise.

While exploring, she walked through narrow alleys and neighborhoods she had never seen before. Many people live in constant hardship. She noted long power outages, meager food supplies, and streets clogged with garbage for weeks. Furthermore, she highlighted the stark gap between the rich and the underprivileged in Karachi.

Despite these challenges, she asserted that hope and love still exist in the city. Mahira Khan recalled seeing children laugh and play, even in places filled with hardship. Meanwhile, in those same areas, mothers stood in small kitchens, making fresh parathas for their sons.

Those sons, she said, left home early each morning to earn a living. Their lives weren’t easy, yet they moved forward with quiet strength.

In one narrow street, she noticed something rare and powerful. A mandir, church, and mosque stood side by side, sharing the same wall. The image stayed with her.

She looked at the faces around her  tired, yet calm. There was pain, but also resilience. Behind every sad smile, she saw a small spark of hope. These scenes, Mahira added, moved her deeply. They reminded her of the strength that lives quietly in the heart of her city.

Towards the end, Mahira expressed her love for Karachi. She lamented that people have not always cared for Karachi the way Karachi cares for them. She said: “I love you, Karachi.”

Her post gained praise and sparked discussion online. Many fans and city residents resonated with her words. They thanked her for speaking up about the city’s challenges.

Critics and activists responded by calling authorities to act. They urged better infrastructure, waste management, power supply, and equitable services for all citizens.

Mahira’s reflections remind people that behind any city’s problems lie real human lives. Moreover, her message emphasizes pride, care, and responsibility for the city she calls home.
