Social messaging veteran Whatsapp is now working on a new in-app dialpad feature, through which users will be able to call directly without saving the number. This feature is currently under testing for beta users and may soon be widely released.

This new feature has been seen by WhatsApp in Android beta version 2.24.13.17. The user will see a floating action button in the call tab, on which he can make a call by entering any phone number (which is not in your contact list). If that number is actually registered on WhatsApp, you will also get a information.

Main characteristics and method of functioning

On pressing the button in the call tab, the pad to enter the number will open.
Users can add that number to their contacts or add in existing contact.
If you type the number, and it is not registered on Whatsapp, then WhatsApp will give you the option to tell.
In addition, the shortcut to send messages to the typed number will also be included in the dialer, so that users can choose to send messages immediately instead of calling.

Challenges and limitations
Since it is currently in a test stage, not all users will get immediately. This feature is currently limited to only selected beta users.
