Love Is Blind season 9 cast member Kacie McIntosh has opened up about her controversial breakup with fellow contestant Patrick Suzuki, insisting that her decision was not based on his appearance. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Kacie clarified that she did not intend to end things with Patrick and wanted to explore a potential relationship off the show in Denver.
The drama unfolded in episode six when Kacie declined to travel to Mexico with Patrick after their engagement in the pods. On-screen, she appeared emotional and confused, leading Patrick to believe they would continue dating after leaving the show. Kacie, however, confided to producers that she was unsure if her attraction to Patrick could grow, admitting she wanted to remove the pressures of the show and explore their connection naturally in Denver.
Kacie explained, “No, I did not end things with Patrick over his appearance. I wanted to see if love was truly blind… I wanted to take the show part out of the experience and come back to Denver to see if we could date slowly”, as quoted in a report by Entertainment Weekly.
Despite these mixed signals, she emphasized that her actions stemmed from genuine uncertainty rather than any critique of Patrick’s looks. She further added that she and Patrick shared common interests and activities, expressing hope that they could build a connection post-show.
Kacie also highlighted the limitations of television editing, stating that much of her emotional experience and affection for Patrick was not fully represented. She admitted receiving online criticism but insisted she signed up for the exposure that comes with reality TV.
