Taylor Swift is bringing fans an inside look at her record-breaking Eras Tour through a new docuseries on Disney+. The six-part series, titled “The End of an Era,” will reveal how the tour was organized and give viewers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of life on the road. The tour ran from March 2023 to December 2024 and saw Swift perform in sold-out stadiums across the world.
The first two episodes of the series will premiere on Disney+ on December 12. Two more episodes will be released weekly over the next two weeks. Alongside the docuseries, Disney+ will also air “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour: The Final Show” on December 12. This film captures the tour’s final performance at BC Place in Vancouver on December 8, 2024. Fans will also see the full live performance of Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department album for the first time.
The Eras Tour has been a historic success. It generated over $2 billion in ticket sales and was attended by more than 10 million people worldwide. The tour also inspired the concert documentary Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, which became the highest-grossing concert film of all time, according to Guinness World Records. Fans can now also stream a special edition of the film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), on Disney+.
Earlier, Taylor Swift has released her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl. Fans around the world celebrated the launch with midnight store openings, pop-up experiences, and movie theater events.
The album follows The Tortured Poets Department, which sold more than 8 million copies in the United States. Within just 11 hours of release, The Life of a Showgirl became the most-streamed album of the year on Spotify.
Taylor Swift said the record reflects her current stage of life. “It feels very accurate to my life experience right now,” she explained during a radio interview in Britain.
