Synopsis

Chirag Paswan's LJP(RV) has made headlines by announcing its inaugural list of 14 candidates, claiming significant positions in key areas like Govindganj and Brahmpur. In a surprising twist, they have taken over several constituencies that were contested by JDU during the last elections.

After a lot of discussions within the party and with NDA allies, LJP(RV) of Chirag Paswan has finally released its first list of 14 candidates on Wednesday. There were several seats which the party had earlier claimed to have got in the alliance. However, it got two of their choice seats of Govindganj and Brahmpur.

In Govindganj, BJP vacated its winning seat for LJP. The party has fielded state president Raju Tiwari from the seat. Similarly, in Brahmpur, the party has fielded Hulas Pandey. The JDU has left its sitting seat Parbatta to accommodate Chirag Paswan. Parbatta JDU MLA Sanjeev has joined the RJD and is contesting on an RJD ticket. The LJP has fielded Babulal Shaurya from the seat.

There are several seats which the JDU contested in 2020 but lost. Some of these seats have come to Chirag Paswan's kitty. From Garkha, the party has fielded Chirag Paswan's nephew Seemant Mrinal. The seat was earlier contested by the BJP.

From Gaighat seat in Patna, the party has fielded Komal Singh, the daughter of party's Vaishali MP Veena Singh. In 2020, the JDU contested this seat and lost.
