The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Chennai has forecast widespread rainfall across Tamil Nadu in the coming days, with 16 districts likely to experience heavy downpours on Tuesday.
The IMD has cautioned that this spell of intense rain may continue until October 19, affecting both the Western Ghats and several interior regions.
According to the official bulletin, the hilly areas of Coimbatore, Nilgiris, Theni, and Tenkasi are expected to receive heavy rainfall on Tuesday and Wednesday. Significant rain is also likely in the hill regions of Tiruppur, as well as in Erode, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Dindigul, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Tiruchirappalli, Kallakurichi, and Tiruvannamalai.

- Jamalia Subway, Perambur: Frequently waterlogged and unsafe for pedestrians after moderate rain.
- Koyambedu–Thirumangalam Stretch: Prone to flooding and occasional pipeline bursts that worsen traffic flow.
