There are several rumours saying that both the Indian stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli might step down from the ODI cricket after the Australia tour. There are reports too suggesting that Cricket Australia has arranged some sort of farewell for the duo, hoping that this will be their final Australia tour.
Meanwhile, after reaching Perth for the first ODI match, Kohli shared a cryptic tweet. Whether it's personal or an advertisement promo, is not sure. On his X account, Kohli wrote,
"The only time you truly fail, is when you decide to give up."
The first batch of the Indian team reached the Perth International Airport around 4 am local time. A four-hour delay at the Singapore transit has delayed the arrival of the team.
Players like Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Harshit Rana, along with Ro-Ko, were in the first batch of players who came to Perth. Under heavy security, the players avoided fan frenzy and even media interaction and straightaway checked into the hotel. Notably, India will play three ODI matches in this tour. The first ODI will be played at Perth on October 19.

Virat Kohli uncertain for 2027 World Cup
Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won't be having an easy route for the 2027 ODI Men's World Cup. Currently, both of them are playing the ODI format only and are eyeing the World Cup. However, the BCCI has mandated the duo to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy and other related domestic matches.
According to reports, Ro-Ko has to participate in the domestic matches to get selected in the New Zealand series that follows.
Well, Virat Kohli’s most recent ODI appearance was on March 9, facing New Zealand in Dubai during the Champions Trophy. He is currently only 54 runs short of climbing to second place on the list of all-time ODI run-scorers and is set to have several opportunities to smash more records in the upcoming Australia series.
