In fact, before the start of the match, when the teams were going for the national anthem, Kohli took an important step and asked captain Shubman Gill and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer to lead the team.

Talking about this match, after getting the invitation to bat first Indian team had a bad start and top 4 batsmen Rohit Sharma, captain Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer got out cheaply and returned to the pavilion. After the match was stopped several times due to rain, the number of overs was reduced to 26 overs per innings. The Indian team scored 136 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 26 overs, but the target was reduced to 131 runs as per Duckworth Lewis rule. KL Rahul scored 38 runs in 31 balls, hitting two fours and two sixes. Whereas Akshar played an inning of 31 runs in 38 balls. In the end Nitish Kumar Reddy contributed 19 unbeaten runs.

The Australian team, which came to chase the target, got the first blow in the form of Travis Head (8) on a total score of 10 runs. After this, Matthew Short (8) also returned to the pavilion cheaply. Mitchell Marsh along with Josh Philip took over the innings and added 55 runs for the third wicket. Phillip played an innings of 37 runs in 29 balls, saying that he played for Australia after four years in the ODI format.
