These two Moolsim leaders say that Sarfraz Khan cannot be given a place in the Indian team as he is a Muslim.
Congress leader Dr. Shama Mohammed has accused head coach Gautam Gambhir that Sarfraz Khan’s non-selection was linked to his religion and surname, giving the matter a political twist. Dr. Sharing a post on social media, Shama wrote, “Isn’t Sarfraz Khan selected in the team because of his last name? We wonder what Gautam Gambhir thinks about it.” Dr. Shama Mohammad’s post has created a stir. This post has now transformed the issue from just a sports debate to a political one.
AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has also expressed his displeasure over Sarfaraz Khan not being included in the India A team. He has questioned the decision of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. He said, “Why was Sarfaraz Khan not selected in the India A team?”
Sarfraz Khan has consistently impressed with his brilliant performances in first-class cricket. He has scored 4759 runs in 56 matches at an average of 65.19. In which he has scored 16 centuries and 15 fifties. He has played six Test matches for the Indian team, scoring 371 runs at an average of 37.10.
