Elon Musk Robot: American billionaire and Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk Once again in the headlines. Musk is now preparing to create a robot army that works like humans. He has announced that Tesla will produce 1 million units of ‘Optimus’ robot in the coming few years. This is the same company that revolutionized the world of electric vehicles, and now it is going to create history in the field of human-like robotics.
During the company’s quarterly earnings call, Elon Musk said, “Optimus could become Tesla’s most important and influential project to date.” Musk believes that Optimus robot can prove to be the world’s biggest product. He claimed that this robot will be able to work with five times more efficiency than a human. He has also demanded the Tesla board to give full authority over this project, so that it can be implemented on a large scale.
Musk said that Optimus is being developed for difficult and repetitive tasks like manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and household support. It will be able to walk, lift and react like a human. He said, “This robot can create a world where there is no poverty and every person gets better medical facilities. Optimus can also work like a surgeon.”
The Optimus robot was first showcased at a Tesla event in 2023. In a recently released video, this robot was seen learning Kung Fu, which created a lot of discussion on social media.
From 2023 onwards, Tesla has started working rapidly on this project. Currently Optimus is in the testing phase. Some time ago Musk had said, “Optimus is completely based on AI and does not need any tele-operating system.”
This means that this robot can move and perform tasks independently without human intervention. The company aims to have its production prototype ready by the beginning of next year and start its mass production by the end of the year.
