The most trusted identity document in the digital age — Aadhar Card — has now become mandatory for every government and private service. Be it opening a bank account, getting a mobile SIM or availing government subsidy, Aadhaar is required everywhere. But as its use has increased, the trap of fake Aadhaar cards has also spread.
To save people from these frauds, UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has released a free mobile app “mAadhaar” and Aadhaar Verify tool, through which any citizen can identify the real or fake Aadhaar of his or anyone else in a few minutes.
Why is Aadhaar verification necessary?
In the recent past, many such cases have come to light, where fraud was done with bank accounts by making fake Aadhaar cards or fake subsidies were taken.
In such a situation, it is very important to know whether your Aadhaar is genuine or not – and whether someone is misusing it.
UIDAI has given this simple method to empower the common citizens, through which you can check the authenticity of Aadhaar from your mobile without taking the help of any agent or cyber café.
What is UIDAI’s ‘mAadhaar App’?
mAadhaar is the official mobile application of UIDAI, available on both Android and iOS platforms.
Through this app you can –
You can download your Aadhaar
You can check your demographic details (name, date of birth, address)
You can check the validity of Aadhaar and QR code.
You can also verify someone else’s Aadhaar number
The most important thing is that this app is connected to the official UIDAI server, so it is completely secure and reliable.
How to check Aadhaar (Step-by-Step Process)
Open UIDAI website or mAadhaar App.
Select the option of “Verify Aadhaar Number” there.
Enter 12 digit Aadhaar number and fill the captcha.
Click on “Proceed to Verify”.
In a few seconds it will appear on the screen whether this Aadhaar is valid or invalid.
If your Aadhaar shows Valid, it means that it is present and genuine in the UIDAI database.
If “Invalid” or “Does not Exist” appears, the card may be counterfeit or fraudulently processed.
Also check by scanning QR code
A unique QR code is given on every Aadhar card. “Scan QR Code” feature is present in UIDAI’s mAadhaar App.
Just scan that code with your camera — the app will instantly tell whether the Aadhaar is genuine or fake.
This feature is especially useful for shopkeepers, bank employees or government employees who have to check Aadhaar daily.
Security and vigilance are very important
UIDAI has clearly warned not to do Aadhaar verification through any third party website or app.
Many fake apps ask for personal information from users in the name of Aadhaar verification, which can be dangerous from security point of view.
Only UIDAI website uidai.gov.in
Or use its official mAadhaar app only.
Why is this app 100% reliable?
UIDAI’s server is directly connected to the Aadhaar database.
The data remains encrypted, meaning no third person can see your information.
This is a completely free and government recognized app.
No advertising or external access is allowed in it.
