42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament – BSF Jalandhar and CAG Delhi teams tied 2-2, Indian Navy Mumbai Defeats RCF 3-2

Indian Navy Mumbai made a winning start in the 42nd Indian Oil Servo Surjit Hockey Tournament by defeating Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala 3-2 after a tough match. Two matches of the league round were played on the second day of the tournament being held at the Olympian Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

The first match was played between Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala and Indian Navy in Pool A. In the 10th minute of the game, Jogimber Rawat of Kapurthala scored a goal to make the score 1-0. Nitish scored a goal for Indian Navy in the 15th minute of the game.

After this, Charanjit Singh of Kapurthala scored a goal to make the score 2-1. After this, in the 34th minute, Navy’s Sushil Dhanwar scored a goal to make the score 2-2. In the 41st minute of the game, Navy’s Sundara Padha scored a goal to make the match 3-2.

The second match was played between CAG Delhi and BSF Jalandhar in Pool C. Kamaljit Singh scored a goal in the third minute of the game and Hatinder Singh scored a goal in the 36th minute to make the score 2-0. After this, Manjit scored a goal in the 58th minute of the game and Roshan Kumar scored a goal in the 60th minute to make the score 2-2. Both the teams got one point each for remaining equal in this match.

The chief guest of today’s match, Olympian Harmanpreet Singh, captain of the Indian hockey team, introduced the teams. On this occasion, Lakhwinder Pal Singh Khaira, Iqbal Singh Sandhu, Surinder Singh Bhapa, Gurwinder Singh Gullu, Ram Pratap, Professor Kirpal Singh Matharu, LR Nayyar, Baljit Singh, elder brother of Olympian Surjit Singh, Harinder Sangha, Gurinder Sangha, Ranbir Tut, Narinder Pal Singh Judge, Natha Singh Gakhal, Olympian Mukhbain Singh, Baljit Singh Chandi, Gaurav Mahajan, Kulwinder Singh Thiara were especially present.
