Janseva Express Fire:- Saharsa (Bihar): A major accident was averted at the Sonvarsha Kachari station in Saharsa district on Friday evening. A coach of the Janseva Express (train number 14618) suddenly caught fire when a teenager’s mobile phone exploded while charging it on the train. Satyam Kumar, 15, was severely burnt in the accident. Satyam is said to be a resident of Dumri village in Supaul district, Bihar.
According to reports, the incident occurred in coach number 247271NR. Satyam was charging his mobile phone when it suddenly exploded. The explosion was so powerful that the entire coach caught fire. This caused panic among the passengers, and people started running around.
According to family members, Satyam was returning home from Ambala with his family and villagers to celebrate the Chhath festival in his village. However, this sudden accident frightened everyone. Satyam was engulfed in flames and suffered severe burns. He was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital for first aid.
Upon receiving news of the fire, panic gripped the station. The train was stopped immediately. Meanwhile, local residents and railway staff began firefighting. With the help of passengers, the fire was brought under control after about half an hour.
Railway staff also used firefighting equipment, while the local fire brigade team also arrived at the scene. Passengers heaved a sigh of relief after the fire was completely extinguished.
Station Superintendent Sanjay Kumar stated that a sudden fire was reported in one of the train coaches. The team on scene responded immediately and brought the fire under control. The injured teenager was sent to the hospital after receiving first aid. After completing all safety checks, the train departed for Saharsa with a delay of about an hour.
Railway officials have urged passengers to be cautious when charging mobile phones, power banks, or any other electronic devices on board, as overheating or local chargers can increase the risk of such. accidents.
